How things measure
Every piece carries nine measured fields. This page explains how we take them and how to read them.

Between two sizes? Take the larger one for anything with no stretch, and the smaller for ribbed knits.
How to read the Coverage Spec
The panel on every product page is the same nine fields in the same order, so two pieces can be compared line for line.
- Neckline
- The cut, plus how far below the collarbone it sits in centimetres. A high neck with a 4cm stand and a crew that sits 2cm down are different garments.
- Sleeve
- Measured from the shoulder seam to the cuff on the size 10 sample. Full length means it reaches past the wrist bone.
- Hem drop
- From the shoulder seam on dresses and tops, from the waistband on skirts. The note tells you roughly where it lands on a 5'6" frame; if you are taller or shorter, trust the centimetres.
- Opacity
- One to five. Five is opaque in direct light. Three means a light layer is sensible in bright sun. We do not sell ones.
- Lining
- None, half or full, and what the lining is made of. A lined four and an unlined five make the same promise two ways.
- Stretch
- None, slight or moderate. None means the piece is sized true, so size up if you layer underneath.
- Closure
- Where the piece opens. A concealed side zip keeps the back seam unbroken; a button front can be layered open.
- Layering
- Whether it wears alone, needs an under-layer, or is itself the layer.
- Model
- The model's height and the size she is wearing, so you can scale what you are looking at.
Between sizes
Take the larger size for anything with no stretch, particularly if you layer an under-top beneath it. Take the smaller size for ribbed knits and jersey, which relax within a wear. Our models are between 5'5" and 5'9", and each product page names the height and size photographed.
